WHAT exactly the GRE Exam?

The GRE General Test is a graduate-level admissions exam accepted by many graduate and business school programmes around the world. This international standardized test is required for admission to graduate schools in the United States of America and other parts of the world. This test, administered by the Educational Testing Service (ETS), an independent organization, provides graduate and business schools with a single criterion against which all applicants can be compared.

At the time of admission, GRE scores are considered alongside other factors such as undergraduate GPA, letters of recommendation, and personal statements. A candidate may take the test a maximum of five times in a 12-month period, with a 21-day gap between each attempt. The score will be valid for a period of up to 5 years.

STRUCTURE OF GRE :

The GRE is a computer-based standardized exam that is used to determine admission to many American graduate schools. The GRE is divided into six sections, and you will have 3 hours and 45 minutes to complete them all. You will be tested on Verbal, Quantitative, and Analytical reasoning in those six sections.

Analytical Writing Assessment: This section takes one hour and is divided into two 30-minute tasks.

Quantitative Reasoning: This is also divided into two sections, each 35 minutes long, with 20 questions per section.

Verbal Reasoning: This area is further divided into two sections, each 30 minutes long, with 20 questions per section.
